Woodinville Country Day School’s mission is to foster a love of learning in every child. We are committed to a curriculum of intentional play-based learning and hands-on experiences. Research now shows that neural pathways in children’s brains are influenced and advanced in their development through exploration, thinking skills, problem solving and language expression that occur during play. Our objective is to provide a school experience where children learn by doing and where the environment and experiences are in tune with the personal characteristics of each student.
We provide each child with:
A happy school experience to set the stage for positive future school years!
Small and Large motor development.
Social and emotional development.
Opportunities for investigating the world, asking questions and problem solving.
Concept building through experimentation.
Pre-Kindergarten readiness skills (the ability to listen and talk and function in a group).
Enjoyment and self-confidence in art and music.
Our bright, spacious facility is organized to promote free movement between various centers.
Blocks, puzzles, table toys, playhouse, library, easel, play dough, and multiple art activities are available daily. More structured activities include group concept time, science, music, snack, and sharing. Our enormous outdoor area includes a playground, a mini city for ride-on toys (bring your helmet) and a recreation field. Our outdoor facilities are private (secure) and used daily, weather permitting. For the heavily rainy days, we utilize nearly 2500 square-feet of large motor skill space separate from our classrooms.
